I havent had a chance to get my nose on the new Aventus absolu noir (I think that's what it's called) next time I work in San Francisco I'm going to Neiman Marcus to sample this and some other new frags. So, I can't say with any accuracy if they smell the same, but this doupe does smell very good. I'm not good at naming notes, but it is a more floral (I Wana say Jasmin,but I just looked at the notes n that's not in here) and it's a little darker without the pineapple fruity opening Aventus has, well in some batches at least, and it's not smokey. It smells of high quality ingredients, and is well blended. I forgot the price on this, but I personally think it's worth the money, seeing how for this same smell from creed, you're dropping over $500 with tax. As far as longevity and projection, I'd put this at a little above average, not a beast mode frag, but it can hold its own, I've gotten a compliment from this like 2 hrs after I quit smelling it on myself, so it sticks around a while, I just go nose blind to most frags pretty quickly, but I would say it's blind buy worthy, as long as u like Aventus, because it's not a far departure from the original, but it is diff enough to have both bottles if you really like this sent profile. I Hope this helps you in deciding whether to buy this or not, I don't think you'll be disappointed with what you get at this price point. And the presentation is not bad either, it has a xeroff style bottle, and a good atomizer, just wish it was 100ml not just 75ml
